Job Description


For each designated location the Associate Field System Administrator will monitor and maintain the local IT resources such as server, personal computing hardware, operating system, application software, and all specialized hardware for use in the Manufacturing and Distribution shop floor environments. The Associate will interact and solve general computing IT problems for each designated location. The Associate will also provide first level IT customer service for all business partners at the designated facility. The Associate will be responsible for escalating to appropriate senior IT staff business concerns. Working safely is part of our culture and is a condition of employment.


  • Install, configure, and deploy various hardware, software, and peripherals used in business, shop floor, retail, and consumer environments.
  • Monitor various hardware and software platforms on a routine basis to ensure uptime and support business processes.
  • Under direction install, configure, and maintain wireless equipment in local and remote sites of responsibility.
  • Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose I.T. problems both on-site and over the phone providing after hours on call support for manufacturing/distribution facility sites.
  • Maintain inventory of all computer, telecommunications, and peripheral equipment assets; purchase of I.T. related hardware/software; maintenance contracts for hardware/software including contacts and schedules: and wiring diagrams for manufacturing/distribution facility sites.
  • Travel to remote facilities as required for assigned project work, as well as for the management and maintenance of extended areas of responsibility that are in addition to local facility support responsibilities.
  • Perform service of all computers, printers, audio/visual, and other peripheral equipment up to and including ewaste disposal
  • Create, install, and troubleshoot network cabling as necessary.
  • Create and follow documentation for operational procedures.
  • Provide individual and group based computer user training and support as necessary
  • First level IT support for all equipment and user concerns at each designated facility
  • Respond to service incidents as assigned by the IT ticketing system.
  • Escalate, participate in troubleshooting, and act as an advocate with senior IT staff members for resolution of critical or chronic IT issues



Educational attainment equivalent to high school graduation, supplemented by training or industry certifications

1 to 5 years of experience involving network or computer administration, user support, and/or personal computer technical work in a distributed enterprise environment is required


Must be self-motivated in learning new technologies and willing to share knowledge

Knowledge in MS Office Suites and/or software applications related to job functions

Ability to solve complex problems and perform accurate analysis

Excellent interpersonal and excellent written & oral communications skills are essential

Ability to follow documented operational procedures for organization, and completion of job orders

Ability to install and configure computer components; i.e., hard drives, video cards, and memory is required

Ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on tasks to complete work as scheduled and to meet deadlines

Ability to provide onsite and telephone support to customers, vendors, and employees


Ability to work a flexible workweek, including nights, weekends, or extended hours in order to meet production schedule requirements or provide support when required

Ability to travel to remote locations for training and onsite support as required

Must be able to meet OSHA rules for operating mobile equipment
