Job Scope/Summary:

• The ability to work and, using your experience, assist in leading in a collaborative and creative team environment to produce successful graphic print production, layout and design for packaging, collateral and point of purchase.

Essential Functions:

• Moderate to Heavy Design support and leadership for Packaging, Collateral and Point of Purchase material.

• Senior level Graphic Production for Packaging, Collateral and Point of Purchase material in support of Behr and the Diversified channels.

• Serve as a mentor and senior level support to the Graphic Artists.

• Provide collaborative conceptual support and senior leadership to the entire Creative Services team.

• Work with Graphic Artists, Production Artists, Internal Clients, Art Manager and/or the Art Director to determine the scope of a project.

• Assist in managing the workload and project management of the team to ensure timelines and due dates are met.

• Analytical skills. Senior Graphic Artists must be able to look at their work, and the work of the team from the point of view of their consumers and examine how the designs they develop will be perceived by the consumer to ensure they convey the client’s desired message.

• Artistic ability. Senior Graphic Artists must be able to create and produce designs from start to finish that succeed in communicating the direction of our internal customer in a visually interesting and appealing manner. An advanced understanding of balancing Layout, Design, Typography and Color to achieve a variety of creative goals.

• Communication skills. Senior Graphic Artists must communicate with Production Artists, Graphic Artists, Clients, Vendors and Customers to ensure their designs and production accurately reflect the desired brand, product message and cross-functional input.

• Creativity. Senior Graphic Artists must be able to work independently and collaboratively, and serve as a senior leader in the development, direction and production of new design layouts, concepts and graphics to creatively communicate visual ideas to consumers for retail Packaging, Collateral and Point of Purchase.

• Time-management skills. Senior Graphic Artists frequently work on multiple projects at the same time, each with a different deadline. Artists must be able to self-manage their workload, and the workload of the team to quickly respond to changing direction and deadlines.

• Process Updates. Senior Graphic Artists are responsible for working with the managers and the team to develop and/or refine processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement throughout Creative Services in our support of our internal customer.

• Proofing. Senior Graphic Artists are responsible for reviewing and approving proofs received from the vendor, and communicating to the vendor any specific direction, revision and/or approvals.

• Vendor Press checks. Senior Graphic Artists are responsible to press check their work or the work of their team to ensure project is produced successfully.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be a College or Design School Graduate (Associate or Bachelor degree)

• 5+ years working as a Graphic Artist or Designer

• Advanced knowledge of the printing process

• Excellent verbal and communcation skills

• Detail oriented

• Ability to Self-Manage and Assist in Managing the team.

• Extremely organized

• Advanced MAC computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite: Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)

• Additional knowledge in Video, Photography and Web Design a plus
